.........Andrew Chulyk’s sculptural boxes are known more for their look than their function. Their unique blending of Ancient Egyptian and Asian motifs with Art Deco design make them appear less like boxes, and more like miniature temples, sculptures or sacred vessels. Chulyk's unusual blending of colors and metallic finishes however, is the true signature of his work. In Chulyk's words: "I think of my boxes as meditations on color and form. They evoke mystery, elicit emotion, and invite touch." These elegant containers lend artistic distinction and a quiet breath of history to home and office.

........Andrew Chulyk, born 1948 in Salem MA, is an artist, sculptor and designer with an art career spanning over 35 years. It was not until 1994 when he started Studio Maxima that he began designing and producing boxes as an extension of his fine art and sculpture.

........His work has been featured in such publications as METROPOLITAN HOME, AMERICAN STYLE, SEATTLE HOME AND LIFE STYLES, NEW HAMPSHIRE MAGAZINE and The Guild’s ARTFUL HOME catalogs.

........He has exhibited his work at the American Craft Councils Baltimore Wholesale shows and been selected for Crafts at The Castle, Boston, MA,, Paradise East, Marlborough, MA, , The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and other juried shows around the country.

........In 2006 Chulyk moved from Portsmouth, NH to La Crosse, WI with his wife Susan and their cats Nicholas and Zelda. His work is carried and sold by galleries, stores and museums nation-wide, and has been represented by Artship since its beginning in 2000.

........The boxes range in size from 5 inches to 4 feet, and in price from $ 125 to $ 925.
